PANDAS PANS Efforts to MOVE US FORWARD

During the pandemic, we were able to re-imagine our website due to the gift from a major donor who worked to ensure our stability.  Also, scientists, doctors and families came forward in a variety of ways to help our nonprofit. Two recovering PANDAS-PANS teens created Fbook Fundraisers (thank you, Sadie and Emily), and also 21 separate families ran Fbook Fundraisers.  We made an effort to increase this disease model's presence and relevance with the following:

  • 23 professionally written blogs
  • Youtube Channel created including February 2022 Northwell Conference
  • Monthly Newsletters
  • $100K to Researchers Awarded in 2022
  • Octapharma Lauches IVIG Trial (link on our home page)

We are now at 80% of our goal to fund two research grants in 2023. Each grant must be a minimum of fifty-thousand dollars to initiate and complete in a laboratory setting.  Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard, we will keep pushing!

Below are three new remarkable nonprofits created by resilient families despite their own loss and difficulty due to PANDAS-PANS.  Please read about each nonprofit and learn about their significant scientific and clinical efforts for worldwide recognition for an illness that deserves major national funding.

  • EXPAND.Care (Europe)
  • INFLAMED BRAIN (Canada)
  • The Alex Manfull Fund PONDS Brain Bank at Georgetown

The Pandemic was really hard and we are all recalibrating how we proceed with greatest impact in 2023.  PANDAS Network can't meet every need so we are grateful there are many advances in this, currently, rare disease field. It is exactly what we all want -- more Awareness & Empowerment!

Thank you. Stay Well, Be Happy.  We are here, especially, for new families who need some guidance. Happy 2023.  With Respect and Admiration,

Warmly, The PANDAS Network Board of Directors

Despite the Pandemic You Raised $80K for Research

Now that our world is back up and running we tried something new and we hope fun! Our community is extremely grateful for your endless hours and hard labor collecting & bagging 2,500 shoes for research, 500 t-shirts sold, all while advocating in your communities. Year End Funds around our two end of year events came to $9,800:

  • $3300 was raised for research from our Youth by PANDAS Youth Advocates T-shirt Art Program and $6500 from the shoe drive. Shoe Drive Families AND Friends from the East Coast and Midwest:  Margret H, Diane K, Robyn D, Amanda M and Stacie M- THANK YOU for your support with our shoe drive.

We are at 80% of our goal. We need $20K more to reach $100K which will give two Research Scientists enough money for a meaningful research project in 2023.  $20K more to go!  Read below about the end of year match.
